Lavender Baking Powder Biscuits

I love making biscuits when the days start getting shorter and the temperatures outside drops. This is one of those fall comfort foods. This makes about a dozen, depending on the size you make them.

biscuit Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoons dried chopped lavender buds
3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 tablespoons sugar
3/4 cup of butter
1 cup milk

Mix together all the dry ingredients.

Mix in butter, (I use a food processor, pulse until mixture holds together).

Add the milk all at once. Mix with a fork until just moistened.

Dump onto a lightly floured surface and knead or fold gently about 4 or 5 times just until the dough holds together.

Gently pat dough to about 3/4 inch thick.

Cut them into about 10 squares, I don't use a cookie cutter because the more you handle the dough and the more flour you mix in , the tougher they are.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

This is good with lavender butter.
