Dog Spritz

This dog spritz is a great way to use aromatherapy on your pet. It smells great and helps to keep your pet smelling fresh between baths. There are no harsh petrochemicals or synthetic fragrances like you find in some commercial sprays.

It's quick and easy to make and use. Try the following recipe or make your own scent by mixing and matching some essential oils. Some ideas are peppermint, lime, lemon, grapefruit, sweet orange, and tangerine, ylang ylang, rose, rosemary, patchouli, sweet basil, cinnamon leaf, bay leaf, or coriander.

Hint To see if you like a combination of essential oils together. Take the covers off of the bottles and hold them together in your hand. While inhaling, pass the group of bottles under your nose. This will give you an idea on what they may smell like together. Of course it varies with how many drops you put of each. Some scents have a stronger, longer lasting scent, so you will want to use less of this oil. Patchouli and peppermint are some of the oils that tend to overpower other scents.

Fresh Scent
1/2 teaspoon vegetable glycerine
1 teaspoon sweet almond oil
1 1/2 teaspoon aloe vera
5 drops grapefruit seed extract
3 ounces distilled water
7 drops tangerine essential oil
5 drops lavender essential oil
4 drops frankincense essential oil

You will need to shake before using. I like this and use it on myself. So experiment and enjoy yourself. :)
