Lavender in the Home

Lavender in the home has many uses. It makes the house smell great and it"s a anti bacterial and anti fungal. It helps gets rid of bugs and purifies the air.

Using natural or homemade cleaners is so important to your health, the health of your loved ones, and to the environment. Some of the ingredients in normal cleaners cause cancer, kidney and liver poisoning and many have nerve toxins. And that is just some of the health problems they are associated with. When I was being tested for allergies, my doctor told me I was allergic to chemicals and pesticides. I was like a canary in a mine. Everyone is affected by these chemicals, it's just some are more so. Then he gave me a list of things to avoid. This list included items like laundry soaps, fabric softeners, cleaning supplies, furnature polish, paints, waxes, varnishes, air fresheners, perfumes, shampoos, carpeting, makeup, personal items, ect. But he didn't have a list of what is safe to use. This meant I had to make my home environment as free from synthetic chemicals as I could. That started my search for safe products and if I couldn't buy them, then I needed to find out how to make them. Thank goodness more green safe products are coming out on the market now.

Lavender has been used before the time of Christ for laundry. It's becoming popular again. There are more and more products out there now that contain lavender. You can buy products or make your own.

I hope you can use some of these and come up with many more ideas of your own. :)
